Ingredients
AHA stands for alpha hydroxy acid. BHA stands for beta hydroxy acid.
AHA (Glycolic Acid) are water-soluble acids made from sugary fruits. AHA (Glycolic Acid) helps peel away the surface of your skin so that new, more evenly pigmented skin cells may generate and take their place. After use, you’ll likely notice that your skin is smoother to the touch.
On the other hand, BHAs are oil-soluble. Unlike AHAs, BHAs can get deeper into the pores to remove dead skin cells and excess sebum. BHAs, on the other hand, are primarily used for acne and sun damage. BHA (salicylic acid) goes deep into your hair follicles to dry out excess oils and dead skin cells to unclog your pores. Because of these effects, BHAs are most suitable for combination with oily skin.
Allantoin is a potent water-soluble hydrator, mild exfoliator, and anti-inflammatory agent. Allantoin, or aluminum dihydroxy allantoinate, is a chemical compound found within the human body and many plants. it’s often extracted from a plant called comfrey, though it can be made synthetically and used as an ingredient in skin care products. Moisturizing is one of the top reasons why people seek out allantoin, it prevents moisture lock for the skin, [meaning] it helps water stay within the skin and not just evaporate; not only that but also helps in removing dead skin cells and [helps] with dull or dry skin, acne, wrinkles and anti-aging, scars removal, hyperpigmentation.
Aloe Vera has cooling properties and is anti-inflammatory. Hence, it is one of the most natural remedies for sunburn or burnt skin. Applying this gel helps with a protective layer for the skin, and it also helps to retain moisture. It is rich in antioxidants and minerals that boost the healing process. Aloe Vera moisturizes skin, heal wounds, fights skin ageing, reduces infection and acne, and lightens blemishes on the face.
Calendula officinalis, also known as pot marigold, is a flowering plant native to the Mediterranean region. Its bright, sunny flowers and pleasantly herbaceous aroma make calendula a popular decorative plant in home gardens. Calendula extract is also commonly used in cosmetics and is known for its numerous benefits in addressing skin concerns, including acne and irritation. It is widely considered safe to use and is recognized by the World Health Organization for its properties. As such, you’ll often find it in skincare products formulated for sensitive skin. It Helps Reduce Sensitivity and Soothe Irritation. A well-known benefit of calendula extract is its ability to help reduce irritation, particularly for those with already sensitive skin. Calendula’s skin-soothing benefits can likely be attributed to its anti-inflammatory properties and ability to limit trans-epidermal water loss, which in turn strengthens the skin’s defenses against potential irritants. It has been shown to reduce both the visible symptoms and feelings of skin irritation and discomfort.
CICA is known as Centella Asiatica. If you have delicate, dry, sensitive skin that is easily irritated—red, stingy, or itchy—cica can help calm you down. Cica (Centella Asiatica) is a leafy green herb rich in fatty acids, vitamins, and amino acids. It’s been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine to treat redness and inflammation thanks to its effective healing and soothing properties.
CICA is also called Tiger Grass because tigers are known to rub it on their skin to help heal a wound.
You may need to gradually work up to daily use to avoid irritating your skin.
Ceramides ensure that trans-epidermal water loss does not occur too quickly by holding onto water in the skin. Ceramides can reduce free radicals in the skin that destroy elastin and collagen. This helps prevent metabolic processes that can lead to hyperpigmentation and age spots. Ceramides are not only important for a healthy appearance, but also for healthy functioning skin.
Grape Seed Oil
Vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil, Vitis vinifera (Grape) fruit extract
The oil from grape seeds is one of the most valuable domestic oils because the yield of oil from the very hard, small seeds of the grape is very low.
The grape seed oil has high levels of polyphenols and tocopherols and an exceptionally strong antioxidant, and cell membrane-protective effect. It absorbs very well and promotes the absorption of moisture into the skin, particularly for fat-soluble vitamins. Grape seed oil is a light oil suitable for the care of acne, oily, and combination skin. The high content of linoleic acid counteracts keratinization. Even mature skin benefits from the special properties of this oil.
Cosmetic properties:
- regenerating and promoting accessibility
- anti-inflammatory, ideal for the care of acne, oily and combination skin
- smooths callused skin.
- powerful antioxidant and cell membrane-protective, ideal for anti-aging skincare

Hyaluronic acid (HA) primarily binds water in the skin - more precisely, in the extracellular matrix. Hyaluronic acid helps protects against damaging environmental influences and promotes cell renewal.
Lactic acid is alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that removes dead skin cells, lightens dark spots, and improves the look of fine lines and wrinkles on all skin types, including sensitive skin. It is an antioxidant and chemical exfoliant. It helps remove dead skin cells, smooth rough areas, and moisturize the skin. Most lactic acid is produced by a fermentation process using corn starch or beet sugar, meaning that some products containing lactic acid may be suitable for vegans. Chemical peels that contain AHAs, such as lactic acid, remove the top layer of dead skin cells. Typically, superficial chemical peels contain a lactic acid concentration of 10–30%.
Although they are called peels, the skin does not noticeably peel off. Instead, the dead skin cells come away from the top layer of the skin when people cleanse their face in the morning after using chemical peels.
According to the Food & Drug Administration (FDA)Trusted Source, some of the potential benefits of using lactic acid on the skin include:
- improving skin texture and tone
- improving skin appearance or firmness
- reducing dark spots
- smoothing fine lines and surface wrinkles
- unblocking and cleansing pores
Niacinamide is a type of vitamin B3, one of eight B vitamins that support many aspects of your health. Your body makes niacinamide when you have too much niacin in your body. Your body can also change an amino acid called tryptophan into niacinamide.
It helps build keratin, a protein that maintains skin health. It’s also been shown to make your skin stronger, smoother, and brighter.
Boost hydration - Niacinamide may enhance the function of your skin’s lipid barrier (a layer of water and oil that protects your skin). This helps lock moisture in and keep pollutants or other potential irritants out, making your skin more hydrated and less sensitive.
Calm redness - Niacinamide has been shown to ease inflammation, which can help calm redness due to conditions like acne, rosacea, and eczema. It can also soothe irritation caused by strong exfoliants like retinol or glycolic acid that remove dead cells from the surface of your skin.
May reduce the appearance of pores - Nothing has been proven to reduce the actual size of your pores. But niacinamide may help minimize their appearance by helping keep your skin smooth and clear. It also may help regulate the amount of oil your glands produce, which can prevent breakouts and clogged pores.
Treat dark spots - Niacinamide is dermatologist-approved for brightening skin tone. Some research suggests skincare formulas with 5% niacinamide can also help lighten dark spots.
Reduce wrinkles and fine lines - This vitamin’s antioxidant properties may help protect your skin and aid its recovery from damage due to factors like aging, sun, and stress. Some research has shown topical niacinamide can improve fine lines and wrinkles, as well as skin sallowness.
Propanediol is a magnificent solvent for ingredients that are hard to dissolve, such as ferulic acid and salicylic acid. The versatile ingredient offers a plethora of skin benefits, including moisturization, effective cleansing and safety for sensitive skin. Thus, you will find it on the labels of a wide range of skincare products. Propanediol refers to a colourless, three-carbon-diol liquid glycol extracted from corn sugar. You can safely say, it is a natural and safer substitute for the popular propylene glycol, known to cause skin irritation. It is used in different capacities such as moisturizers, serums, creams, lotions, cleansers, toners, eye shadows, antiperspirants, hair colours, eyeliners, foundations, etc. It locks moisture, soften skin, good for acne-prone skin, reduces viscosity.
Rice Ferment Filtrate can activate skin cells quickly, act with multifunction of anti-aging, moisturizing, and brightening. Due to its small molecular size and weight, the filtrate can be easily absorbed by skin cells. Rice is part of India's beauty legacy, which contains ferulic acid, a powerful antioxidant, and allantoins, anti-inflammatory properties. So, whether you eat rice or not, use it in your face pack for glowing skin. The starch in rice water soothes the skin in conditions like eczema. Rice water has been used in Asian beauty rituals for centuries to achieve glowing and smooth skin. Using rice water for the skin is a natural home remedy in treating and preventing acne, removing acne scars, and getting rid of hyperpigmentation. Rice water contains amino acids, vitamins B and E, and minerals that promote cell growth, stimulate blood flow, and keep the skin smooth, youthful, and bright in chilly weather conditions. It's a beauty booster used by more and more people worldwide.
Sodium hyaluronate is hydrophilic, meaning it easily mixes with water. When applied topically, it attracts moisture in skin cells. This reduces dryness and flaking by increasing skin hydration. Compared to high molecular weight HA, sodium hyaluronate can provide a greater hydrating effect. Dry skin makes fine lines and creases more noticeable. But as sodium hyaluronate hydrates the skin, it improves the appearance of wrinkles. Sodium hyaluronate can also soothe skin inflammation. If you’d like to make your skin more supple and hydrated, consider using sodium hyaluronate. This ingredient is a form of hyaluronic acid that can enter the deep layers of your skin. Here, it attracts moisture and reduces inflammation.
Vitamin B5 works as a moisturizer on the skin and enhances the healing process of skin wounds. One study showed that vitamin B5 helped facial acne and reduced the number of acne-related facial blemishes when taken as a dietary supplement. When used in a topical form, Pro-vitamin B5 is rapidly absorbed by the skin and converts into VITAMIN B5. It’s a water-soluble acid, vital for maintaining good quality skin. It’s a humectant, and an emollient, i.e., it holds water effectively and moisturizes the skin. Its moisturizing abilities make it a prime ingredient in a lot of skin, hair, and cosmetic products.
Enhances moisture retention: It physically attracts moisture to the skin, seeps deep in, and provides it to the cells. Provitamin B5 is both a humectant and a water-binding substance, so it not only attracts but also holds onto the water in your skin.
Improves Skin barrier: Working as a humectant, it reduces the amount of moisture lost from your skin into the environment and thus helps in improving the skin barrier.
Minimizing Inflammation and Irritation: It reduces skin inflammation and irritation by providing moisture and healing the cracks on the skin. Fun fact- Vitamin B5 is found in a lot of sun lotions and post-tattoo creams and products for minor skin irritation for rashes and insect bites.
Helps to soothe fine lines: Vitamin B5 when applied to the skin for a significant amount of time can help with smoothing out lines and giving it a healthy plump effect. It’s because of this effect, Vitamin B5 is quite commonly used in anti-aging skincare products.
May help with acne: Yes! Vitamin B5 is an all do-gooder. Researchers have proven that acne sores can be reduced with Vitamin B5. It helps in inactivating fibroblast proliferation and accelerates the process of covering the denuded epithelial surfaces. It aids in reducing inflammation because of acne and enhances skin tone and radiance.
Improves skin elasticity: This multitasking vitamin not only hydrates and moisturizes but also regenerates damaged skin texture and stabilizes the skin.
Vitamin E is synthesized by plants and must be obtained through dietary sources. The richest sources are nuts, spinach, whole grains, olive oil, and sunflower oil.
Vitamin E is an important fat-soluble antioxidant and has been in use for more than 50 years in dermatology. It is an important ingredient in many cosmetic products. It protects the skin from various deleterious effects due to solar radiation by acting as a free-radical scavenger. Vitamin E inhibits acute UV damage as well as chronic UV photoaging.
